The third-generation Range Rover first entered production in 2001 and was planned and designed while Land Rover was owned by BMW. However, it stayed in production for 12 years, during which nearly 300,000 were built at the Solihull factory. Due to the behind-the-scenes changes at the company, engines used in this generation of models were sourced from either BMW or Jaguar (petrol), and the diesels were BMW or Ford-made. They ranged from a compact 4.2-litre V8 to a full five-litre plant, with the diesels ranging in size from 2.9 to 4.4 litres.
Starting with the 2010 model year, the range got a substantial revamp, with new features including a multi-camera system to help all-round vision, extensive LED exterior lights, and two new five-litre petrol engines. At the same time, all signs of the previous generation's reliance on BMW parts were removed, with many components from sister Jaguar models taking their place. This generation of Range Rovers was the first to be underpinned by an air suspension system, as opposed to a live axle set-up.
This model's predecessor had become a rather thirsty and dirty beast, so JLR addressed these shortcomings with powertrain and gearbox tweaks which cut fuel consumption by up to 20 per cent, and CO2 emissions by 15 per cent. Diesel models also gained the much-needed uprated Brembo brakes from the supercharged car, which were considered an important modification in view of its considerable weight. Autocar hailed this model "a mighty step forward", and continued, "on or off-road, it's magnificent. The driving position is the best in the business [and] visibility is terrific."

Range Rover began in the 1960s when the Rover Company recognised the need for a capable off-road vehicle with luxury features. The first Range Rover, known as the Classic, was introduced in 1970 and instantly made an impact with its unique blend of ruggedness and refinement.
Designed by Spen King, Gordon Bashford, and David Bache, the Range Rover featured a lightweight aluminium body and a robust four-wheel-drive system, quickly gaining a reputation for its exceptional off-road capabilities, thanks to its advanced suspension and permanent four-wheel drive.
Over the years, the Range Rover evolved, introducing new technologies and advancements. In 1981, the four-door variant was introduced, further expanding its appeal. The second-generation Range Rover, launched in 1994, featured air suspension and a more luxurious interior.
In 2002, the third-generation Range Rover was unveiled, bringing significant improvements in performance, comfort, and technology. Land Rover, the company behind the Range Rover, became part of the Ford Motor Company in 2000, and later, in 2008, it was acquired by Tata Motors of India.
Today, the Range Rover lineup includes various models, such as the Range Rover Sport and the Range Rover Evoque, catering to different customer preferences and needs. With its blend of luxury, off-road capability, and iconic design, the Range Rover continues to be a symbol of automotive excellence and adventure.
Range Rover parts are manufactured in various locations around the world. Jaguar Land Rover, the parent company of Range Rover, has production factories in the United Kingdom, China, Brazil, India, and Slovakia.
The specific manufacturing sites for Range Rover components may vary depending on the model and type of part, but the company sources parts from different suppliers globally, ensuring a diverse supply chain for their luxury vehicles.
The cost of Range Rover parts can vary significantly depending on the specific part you need and the model of the car. Generally, Range Rover parts tend to be more expensive compared to parts for non-luxury vehicles due to their high-quality materials and advanced technology, while prices can also be influenced by factors such as availability, location, and whether the parts are genuine OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) or aftermarket. It’s advisable to refer to the website part page.
Range Rovers have a reputation for offering a combination of luxury, off-road capability, and advanced features. However, when it comes to reliability, opinions vary.
While some Range Rover owners report positive experiences with their vehicles' reliability, others have encountered issues and maintenance costs. Factors such as regular maintenance, driving conditions, and individual vehicle history can impact reliability.
We recommend conducting thorough research, considering extended warranties, and consulting with Range Rover owners or automotive experts to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the model's reliability.

You have a few methods for finding the correct parts.
Yes, some parts may not be displayed on our website so please get in touch and our parts advisors will be happy to source these for you.
Your VIN number is stamped onto a plate typically located on the driver’s side dashboard beneath the windscreen. It can also be found at the base of the driver's side B-pillar, or in your vehicle documents.
If you are unsure, you can ask our team or search online for your specific model.
The recommended service intervals for a Range Rover can vary depending on the model, year, and specific maintenance schedule provided by the manufacturer.
It's important to refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for the most accurate information. However, as a general guideline, Range Rover vehicles often have service intervals at approximately 10,000 to 15,000 miles (16,000 to 24,000 kilometres) or every 12 months, whichever comes first.
This will depend on your model and the desired optional extra. We suggest you contact our parts advisors, who will be happy to look into this for you.
